Description of key information

The aerobic biodegradation of the read across substance THPS was investigated in a system consisting of natural water and sediment at a concentration of 1 mg/kg.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in freshwater:
6 d
at the temperature of:
25 °C
Half-life in freshwater sediment:
7 d
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The organic phosphonium cation in the surrogate substance THPS is the same as in the substance described in section 1. The anions of both substances are inorganic, and therefore only the biodegradation of the organic phosphonium cation is the key issue.
