Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The performance of a test for adsorption/desorption screening is scientifically unjustified.

REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex IX, Sect. 9.3.1, Col. 2, states as follows:

"9.3.1. The study does not need to be conducted if:

– based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient); or

– the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly."

Hydrolysis data show that the test substance hydrolyses rapidly within minutes forming its degradation products. In addition, the test substance has log Pow of < 3.0 (Log Pow = 2.92, calculated using EPIWIN, KOWWIN v1.68) indicating a low potential for adsorption. Therefore, adsorption/desorption screening testing was considered not scientifically justified.
