Description of key information

The 96-h LC50 of Danio rerio was determined to be greater than 100 mg/L nominal concentration. The NOEC was determined at 100 mg/L nominal concentration.

Additional information

The acute toxicity to fish was assessed in two studies according to OECD guideline 203 and EU-method C.1.

In the first study (ECT, 2006) seven fish were exposed to a loading rate of 100 mg/L for 96 hours under static conditions. The 96 -hour NOEC and the 96 -hour LC0 of the test item to zebra fish were determined at a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L (mean measured 0.071 mg/L). The 96 -hour LOEC, the 96 -hour LC50 and the 96 -hour LC100 were determined to be greater than 100 mg/L nominal concentration (mean measured 0.071 mg/L).

In the second study (Bayer, 1999) no effect on zebra fish in the presence of a weighed-in quantity of 1 mg/L of the test item was observed.

The results of both studies demonstrate no toxic effects of the test item at the range of the water solubility.
