Description of key information

The test substance is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of Reaction mass of Calcium peroxide, Calcium hydroxide and Calcium carbonate in a GLP study according to internationally accepted guidelines.

No propagation of combustion of the test substance along 200 mm length of the pile within 4 minutes was observed. According to the guidelines, performance of the burning rate test is not required. Based on the results obtained, the test substance is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Justification for classification or non-classification

As the test substance showed no propagation of combustion during a flammability test according to EU Method A.10. In accordance with the criteria described in Regulation EC 1272/2008 (CLP), classification of the substance as a flammable solid is not required.
