96-Hour Acute Study in Carp with FR-513 (Static)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
32 mg/L

Additional information

An acute toxicity test was performed in Carp . The fish were exposed to a concentration range of 0.1 to 100 mg/L of FR-513 (range finding test) . All fish exposed to nominal conc. of 100 mg/l died within 2.5 hours. The project was continued with a final test exposing carp to blank-control and a nominal conc. of 10, 18, 32, 56 and 100 mg/l FR-513 for 96 hr. FR-513 induced no lethal effects at or below nominal conc. of 18 mg/l. The 96 hr LC50 was estimated to correspond to 32 mg/l with 95% confidence limits of 18 and 56 mg/l, being 0% and 100% mortality groups. The 96hr LC50 was already reached after 3 hr of exposure.
