Administrative data

First-aid measures

Eye: flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists, get medical attention.

Skin: wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists, get medical attention. For hot resin, immediately immerse in or flush with large amounts of cold water and get prompt medical attention. No attempt should be made to remove material from skin, except under direction or care of medical provider.

Inhalation: remove to fresh air.

Ingestion: give one or two glasses of water to drink; consult with medical professional.

Fire-fighting measures

Fire and explosion hazards: during a fire, irritating and toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion.

Extinguishing media: all extinguishing agents classified as A or B, such as water, dry chemical, and carbon dioxide, are effective.

Fire fighting instructions: avoid inhalation of smoke. As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus, pressure demand, MSHA/NIOSH approved, and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Spill or leak: allow hot resin to solidify and scrape up. Place spilled resin in suitable disposal container.

Handling and storage

Handling: use basic industrial and personal hygiene practices applicable to all chemical handling. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; avoid breathing vapors of hot resin. Wash after handling, and before eating, drinking or smoking. When working with hot resin, avoid contact and use appropriate personel protective equipment to prevent burns.

Storage: avoid high temperatures.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Ventilation: good general ventilation (typically 10 air changes/hour) should be used. If applicable use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls.

Respiratory protection: if engineering controls are not adequate, use an approved respirator.

Eye protection: wear safety glasses with side shields or goggles. Wear a full-face respirator, if needed.

Skin protection: wear chemical-resistant gloves, footwear and protective clothing appropriate for the risk of exposure.

Recommended facilities: eye bath, safety shower, washing facilities.

Stability and reactivity

Stability: stable. Material can decompose at elevated temperatures. Use caution when storing or processing material above 119°C.

Incompatibility: material reacts with strong oxidizing agents.

Disposal considerations

Discharge, treatment, or disposal may be subject to national, state or local laws. Incinerate. Since empties containers retain product residues, follow label warnings even after container is emptied.
