Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Justification:Mineral Paraffin Oilis a complex mixture UVCB substance of variable composition. It is not soluble in water and is comprised mostly of components with water solubility below 0.01 mg/L and, therefore, it is not possible to assess the acute toxicity ofMineral Oilto aquatic organisms. However, because estimated log Kow for its components are above 4, a "safety net" classification in Chronic Category 4 is proposed.

Mineral Paraffin Oilwill not be applied directly to water.Mineral Paraffin Oilis used at industrial and professional settings.

The environmental modelling suggests that most of components emitted to the air will likely to degrade in the atmosphere with only small to nil amounts to be found in water, soil and sediment. Moreover,Mineral Paraffin Oilcomponents are considered to degrade fast and will not persist in the environment.

Therefore, no PNEC water, sediment values are proposed for uses ofMineral Paraffin Oilas reported in this CSR.
