-40°C to +6°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

For complex mixtures like petroleum products, melting point may be characterised by a range of temperatures reflecting the melting points of the individual components. To better describe the physical phase or flow characteristics of petroleum products, the pour point is routinely used. The pour point of vacuum gas oils, hydrocracked gas oils and distillate fuels ranges between -40°C to +6°C. The pour point was determined using the ASTM 1999 test method (CONCAWE, 2010a).
