Additional information

Short term tests with freshwater species of three trophic levels (fish, Daphnia, alga) are available for Fatty Acid Glycerides category members. Organisms on all trophic levels did not show any effects up to the limit of the water solubility of the tested substance, neither in short-term tests, nor in a long-term test with Daphnia magna. The inhibitory effects on the respiration of activated sludge were not tested, as Fatty Acid Glycerides are due to their ready biodegradability and low water solubility of low concern for sewage treatment plants.

Thus, Fatty Acid Glycerides can be regarded as not harmful for aquatic organisms.
