Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Justification for classification or non-classification

There are no carcinogenicity studies available for delta-6-nandrolone. However, delta-6-nandrolone is similar in structure to steroid substances that are known to have both anabolic and androgenic activity, such as nandrolone. Although there is insufficient direct evidence to classify delta-6-nandrolone for carcinogenicity at this time, as a conservative approach delta-6-nandrolone is classified according to CLP as a Category 2 carcinogen (H351 - suspected carcinogenic potential). The risk of limited and controlled use of this substance is not increased by this classification at present.
