The logKoc value of the test substance was determined by the computer program KOCWIN v2.0 (EPIWIN software) of US-EPA (Chemservice S.A., 2014a). This tool estimates the organic carbon-normalized sorption coefficient for soil (and also for sediment), which is designated as Koc. Two different models are used for this estimation: the Sabljic molecular connectivity (MCI) method as well as with the traditional method which is based on logPow. For the substance copper chelate of sodium salt N[1,2 dicarboxyethyl] D,L aspartic acid, the traditional method gives a logKoc of -2.877 L/kg (equals Koc of 0.001) and the MCI method reveals a value of 1.257 L/kg (equals Koc of 18.1) as result. The MCI method is taken more seriously into account due to the fact, that it includes improved correction factors. Since the Koc value of 18.1 is in the range of 1 – 100, a very low soil binding capacity is concluded for the substance.

Henry's Law Constant

Henry’s Law Constant was calculated manually (key information) and by the computer program EPIWIN/HENRYWIN v3.20 (supporting information).

According to ECHA REACH Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment (Chapter R.16 - Environmental Exposure Estimation; version 2.1; October 2012) Henry's Law Constant amounts to 2.97 E-10 Pa*m3*mol-1at 20 °C.

The software tool HENRYWIN calculated a Henry's Law Constant of 2.369 E-13 Pa*m3*mol-1 for the substance copper chelate of sodium salt N[1,2 dicarboxyethyl] D,L aspartic acid. This value was estimated by the software tool using estimated values for the vapour pressure and the water solubility.
