exposure considerations
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely

Description of key information

Study has been waived in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex IX column 2, paragrah 9.4.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Study has been waived in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex IX column 2, paragraph 9.4. Based on the outcome of the study on the survival, growth, and reproduction of the earthworm Eisenia fetida in artificial soil during an exposure period of four weeks. Results from the validated study concluded that there were no significant adverse effects when tested at a concentration of 1000 mg/kg dry soil. Terrestrial bioaccumulation, secondary poisoning and indirect toxicity to humans is not likely to occur if exposed to 2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diyl 2-ethylhexanoate (CAS 28510-23-8).
