Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Measured acute (short-term) aquatic data are available for the effects of Shell GTL Solvent GS250 (Hydrocarbons, C14-C16, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, <2% aromatics) on toxicity to Daphnia and algae. The substance shows no effects at the highest concentrations tested, prepared as WAFs.

For the purposes of the Chemical Safety Assessment, a model composition for the substance has been assessed using the PETRORISK model (Version 7.04), which is attached in Section 13 of the IUCLID dossier.

Conclusion on classification

Reliable short-term toxicity data are available for Shell GTL Solvent GS250 (Hydrocarbons, C14-C16, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, <2% aromatics) with Daphnia and algae. The EC50 values are >100 mg/l (WAF loading rate) for both species. A NOELR value of >=100 mg/l (WAF loading rate) has also been determined in the algal test.

The registered substance is readily biodegradable.

These data are consistant with the following classification under CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272 2008:

Acute toxicity: Not classified

Chronic toxicity: Not classified
