Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

ECOSAR (EPI Suite ECOSAR, v1), a computer model, was used to estimate the toxicity to Fish of

bis(2 -ethoxyethyl)ether.

Bis(2 -ethoxyethyl)ether was classified as a Neutral Organic compound, and the partition coefficient was used to calculate the acute LD50value.

Narcosis was predicted to be the principal mode of action.

The acute LD50to Fish was estimated to be 2609.347 mg/L.

A short-term toxicity in fish was carried out using the Bleak (Alburnus alburnus) in brackish water. The time of exposure was 96 hr and the mortality rate was observed to obtain an LD50 for the test substance. The LD50 for diethylene glycol diethyl ether was > 10000 mg/L. This study is used as a supporting study.
