Biodegradation in water: screening test

SIKA Hardener LI was assessed in a closed bottle test over a period of 28 days, according to OECD guideline 301 D and EU method C.4-E.Under the test conditions biodegradation of SIKA Hardener LI reached a mean of 63.4 % after 28 days, based on ThODNO3. However the pass level of 60 % was not reached within a 10-day period. Therefore, the test item was considered ready biodegradable failing the 10 day window. The corresponding degradation rate was calculated to be 7.70Eā€‘06 d-1or 3.210Eā€‘07 h-1.
