Additional information

In accordance with Annex IX, column 2 the study does not need to be conducted if the substance has low potential for bioaccumulation and/or a low potential to cross biological membranes, or direct and indirect exposure of the aquatic compartment is unlikely. Strictly speaking, this data requirement cannot be waived on this basis. However, sodium hydrogen difluoride fully dissociates into its constituent ions in aqueous environments. The available data for sodium and fluoride indicate that bioaccumulation will not occur: the behaviour of these species is well characterised and therefore further data is not required.
