Readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria

Parent compound butyryl chloride (CAS 141-75-3): Butyryl chloride is determined to be readily biodegradable. However, as the parent compound hydrolyses in water within 10 minutes the assessment of the biodegradability is mainly based on the hydrolysis product butyric acid.
Hydrolysis product butyric acid (CAS 107-92-6): Butyric acid is assessed to be readily biodegradable.
