Executive summary:

New Zealand White rabbits (three males) were exposed to disodium 4,4’-dinitrostilbene-2,2’-disulphonate (60% test substance; 35% water) at 500 mg under semi-occlusive conditions for 4 hours and observed for 72 hours following administration. No edema or erythema was observed. disodium 4,4’-dinitrostilbene-2,2’-disulphonate was not irritating to rabbit skin in this assay.
