Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable

Description of key information

Not relevant due to ready biodegradation.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex IX, Column 2, 9.2.1.2 and 9.2.1.4, simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water and sediment is not required since Propane-1,2,3-triyl 2-ethylhexanoate (CAS No. 7360-38-5) is readily biodegradable. As stated in ECHA Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter 7b, a simulation test would provide little additional data as rapid mineralisation in the environment is already assumed (ECHA, 2017b).
