- to Crustacea: not available

Classification justification according to CLP
Based on the data above, 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate is considered to be readily biodegradable. The acute aquatic toxicity L(E)C50 is > 1 mg/L for fish, invertebrates and algae. Valid chronic toxicity data are available for the alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata with a NOEC > 10 mg/L. 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate does not need to be classified according to the Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) and the Regulation (EU) No. 286/2011 (2ndATP).
Classification justification according to DSD
Based on the data above, 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate is considered to have no potential for accumulation (log Pow < 3) and is rapidly degradable. The acute aquatic toxicity L(E)C50 is > 10 mg/L for all trophic levels. Therefore 2 -isocyanatoethyl methacrylate does not need to be classified according to the Directive 67/548/EEC.
