Additional information

Toxicity data are available for all three trophic levels in the aquatic compartment (algae; invertebrates/Daphnia; fish). These ecotoxicity studies demonstrate that ethyl methyl carbonate is of low toxicity to the aquatic environment. Algae gave the lowest 72-h EC50 value of >62 mg/l (for both biomass and growth rate), based on measured concentrations (nominal concentrations were > 100 mg/l). Acute toxicity studies with fish and Daphnia magna both gave L/EC50’s of >100 mg/l.
