Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Biodegradation

A MITI test (according to Guideline OECD 302 C) was performed due to the low solubility of the test material in water. COD and TOC analysis were not carried out for this reason. 21% degradation after 28 days were found calculated from oxygen uptake and cannot therefore, be considered as inherently biodegradable under the strict terms and conditions of the OECD Guidelines.

Bioaccumulation

According to the procedure of testing new chemical substances of required by theChemical Substances Control Law of Japan (MITI) a bioaccumulation study was carried out with two different concentrations.

Resulting Bioconcentrationfactors were 5.4 and 27.1, indicating that the substance has very low potential for bioaccumulation.

Adsorption

The estimation of the adsorption coefficient (Koc) on soil and sewage sludge was performed using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) according to OECD guideline 121. Sodium nitrate, Acetanilide, Phenol, Methylbenzoate, Naphthalene, 1,2,3-Trichlorobenzene, Phenanthrene, 4,4'-DDT with known LogKoc were used as standard to establish a calibration curve with the retentions times. The retention time was compared with the standards. The calculated log Koc value of the test substance is outside the calibrated range. 4,4'-DDT is the reference substance with highest log Koc value available. Therefore only an extrapolated value for the test substance can be obtained.

The calculated extrapolated value for the Log Koc of the test item is 7.7
