Description of key information

In accordance with Section 9.1 of Column 2 of REACH Annex IX, long term toxicity testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the Chemical Safety Assessment indicates the need to investigate further the effects on aquatic organisms.
Due to the properties of this substance, the environmental releases are strictly controlled and no emission to the environment takes place. The results of the chemical safety assessment therefore indicate that there is no need to further investigate the effects on the aquatic environment; as such, comparison of the derived PNEC with the results of the exposure assessment yield a risk characterisation ratio well below a value of 1.
It is therefore considered justified to omit the long-term toxicity testing on fish studies, specifically the fish early life stage (FELS) toxicity test, the fish short term toxicity test on embryo and sac-fry stages and the fish, juvenile growth test studies required in sections 9.1.6.1, 9.1.6.2 and 9.1.6.3 of Annex IX, respectively.
