Description of key information

The autoignition temperature is 381°C at atmospheric pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a key study performed according to ASTM E659 a small metered sample of the product to be tested is inserted into a uniformly heated 500 mL glass flask containing air at a predetermined temperature. The contents of the flask are observed in a dark room for 10 mins following insertion of the sample, or until autoignition occurs. Autoignition is evidenced by the sudden appearence of a flame inside the flask and a sharp rise in the temperature of the gas mixture.

The autoignition temperature is 381°C at atmospheric pressure.

Classification of liquids for self-heating is not applicable as the substance does not have a flash point <200°C.
