Toxicity to terrestrial plants

Administrative data

Endpoint:
toxicity to terrestrial plants: short-term
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely
Justification for type of information:
According to REACH, Annex IX, the studies do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely, no further testing should be proposed due to the unlikely exposure of the soil compartment. The substance to be registered is used for the finishing and coating of fibres. Therefore direct exposure of soil is unlikely.
According to REACH, Annex IX, in the absence of toxicity data for soil organisms, the equilibrium partitioning method may be applied to assess the hazard to soil organisms. The PNEC for this compartment was calculated from data for freshwater aquatic environment using the equilibrium partitioning method. Thus, no further testing is required.
