Description of key information

Low potential for adsorption. For environmental exposure assessment, adsorption is predicted using the TGD (Technical Guidance Document) non-hydrophobics log Kow prediction method (Reference: European Commission (2003) European Union Technical Guidance Document on Risk Assessment for New and Existing Substances, Part III, European Chemicals Bureau, 2003. Section 4.3 Soil and Sediment Sorption). Koc = 1.95 for the silanol hydrolysis product propylsilanetriol.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance hydrolyses rapidly to substances which have low log Kow values (<3) and thus have low potential for adsorption. Therefore, in accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, the adsorption/desorption screening test does not need to be conducted, and also there is no need for further information on adsorption/desorption.
