Description of key information

2-nitro-p-toluidine ignites only when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of 950°C is brought in contact with it.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

2-nitro-p-toluidine ignites only when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that 2-nitro-p-toluidine is flammable only at high temperature of about 950°C. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, 2-nitro-p-toluidine was considered non-flammable for chemical safety assessment.

Justification for classification or non-classification

2-nitro-p-toluidine is flammable only at high temperature of about 950°C. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, 2-nitro-p-toluidine was considered non-flammable for classification purposes.
