Additional information

This substance has high water solubility, a low vapor pressure, and low log Kow. The substance has a low potential for adsorption to soil or sediments or bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms, and a moderate potential to volatilize from water or soil to the atmosphere. DIBC is hydrolytically stable in water. Biodegradation of the substance in the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) test, similar to the OECD 301D Closed Bottle Test, reached 73% in 20 days, consistent with a description as readily biodegradable. Upon release to the atmosphere the compound will react with hydroxyl radicals with a predicted half-life of 0.9 days.
