Any other information on results incl. tables

After twelve hours of storage in a freezer at - 20°C the test item was still liquid.

According to Annex VII of REACH, the study does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of - 20°C. Therefore no main study was performed and the determination was terminated.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
No freezing point or range could be detected.
The freezing point of α-ETHYL-p-METHOXYBENZYL ALCOHOL (CAS : 5349-60-0) was stated as < - 20°C.
Executive summary:

The determination of the melting point was performed in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, method A.1 “Melting/Freezing Temperature” (May 2008) and OECD Guideline No 102 “Melting Point/Melting Range” (July 1995).

In a preliminary study, the test item was still not frozen after twelve hours of storage in a freezer at - 20°C; according to Annex VII of REACH, no main study was performed. The freezing point or range ofα-ETHYL-p-METHOXYBENZYL ALCOHOL (CAS : 5349 -60 -0) was stated as < - 20°C.

No observations were made which might cause doubts on the validity of the study outcome. Therefore, the result of the study is considered valid.
