Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Mutagenicity of p-Nitrobenzoylaminobenzamid was tested in two AMES-tests according to OECD guideline 471. Testing of a test sample manufactured in 1996 produced negative results in tester strains TA 100, 1535 and 1537, and ambiguous results in tester strain TA 98. Testing of a sample manufactured in 2011 using the current manufacturing process and using the recent testing protocol revealed clearly negative results in all tester strains with and without metabolic activation.

Based on these findings N-(4-carbamoylphenyl)-4-nitrobenzamide was considerd to be non-mutagenic in the AMES-Test.

Short description of key information:
AMES-Test (KEY_471_2009_Harlan_1261901): reliabilit 1, negative
AMES-Test (NON-KEY_471_2009_HMR_97.0901): reliability 2, negative, ambiguous (TA98)

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on negative findings in mutagenicity studies according to OECD guideline 471 classification according to CLP is not warrantable.
