All members of the category alkyl ether sulfates are readily biodegradable which is proved by several studies available for different mixtures (Danish EPA [1] & HERA [2], 2004). Hence, the substances will be ultimately degraded under environmental conditions. Therefore, alkyl ether sulfates are not expected to persist in the environment.
