The density of test substance is measured using volumetric flask at 23°C.
A 50.0 mL volumetric flask with ground glass stopper (pycnometer method) was weighed (accuracy 0.1 mg, weighing m0).
Test Item was filled into the volumetric flask and the volume adiusted exactly to 50.0 mL. The filled flask was weighed with the ground glass stopper (accuracy 0.1 mg, weighing m1).

Main Test
The weight of test item is the difference between the weight of the empty and the levelled pycnometer.
The pycnometer was filled with test item in three replicates and was measured as described.
The density of test item was calculated.

The density (p) is calculated according the following formula:

p = (m1 -m0)/v

Example:

p1 = (m1 -m0)/V = (93.6568 g- 42.2223 g)/50 mL = 1.0287 g/mL = 1028.7 kg/m3

Avarage density: 1029 kg/m3

Standard deviation: 0.4 kg/m3

Standard devitation relative: 0.4 %

Conclusions:
Density (23°C): p = 1029 +- 0.4 kg/m3
Executive summary:

A study according OECD TG 109 was performed in order to determine the relative density of the test item. Using the pycnometer method the relative density of Humectol G liquid HC was determined to be 1029 +- 0.4 kg/m3 at 23 °C.

ln this study the dried substance "Humectol G liquid HC, DEA19H113" was used.
