Additional information

Based on the aquatic toxicity data, the test substance is not classified as hazardous to the environment in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.

Conclusion on classification

Based on the aquatic toxicity data, the test substance is not classified as hazardous to the environment in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.

An EC50 of 14.5 mg/L for Ceriodaphnia dubiahas been reported for photo-induced degradation products of NTO generated using a high concentration of NTO (1507 mg/L). At lower concentrations (111 mg/L) NTO showed no toxicity toCeriodaphnia dubia(EC50 >111 mg/L) when subjected to photo-induced degradation conditions (UV irradiation). However, such specific conditions (UV light and high concentrations) are not considered a firm basis for the classification of NTO.
