Description of key information

Adaptation to Annex VII, column 2 (7.10). 2-phenoxyethyl acrylate is a liquid with a flashpoint higher than 140°C. The study of this endpoint is therefore not required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The flash point of 2-phenoxyethyl acrylate was measured using the closed cup Pensky-Martens flash point tester following EN ISO 2719. The testing was stopped at 140°C in order to prevent the test sample from gelling. The exact flash point could therfore not be determined but will be higher than 140°C and estimated to be higher than 200°C.

The study of this endpoint is therefore not required i.e. adaptation to Annex VII, column 2 (7.10).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the available data, 2-phenoxyethyl acrylate is not classified as flammable.
