Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), Annex IX, Sect. 9.4, Col. 2, states as follows:
“9.4.3: These studies need not to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely.”
In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation No. (EC) 1907/2006 annex IX, the short-term toxicity to plants test (required in section 9.4.3) is not necessary as direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. In addition, low exposure is garanteed , since the substance shows a low adsorptive (log Koc = 1.0) as well as a bioaccumulative (log Pow = 0.77) potential. In addition, since 4-hydroxybutyl acrylate is readily biodegradable an indirect exposure to soil via sewage sludge transfer is unlikely. Hence, a relevant distribution into soil and a considerable exposure of terrestrial plants is not expected.
