Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

There are no data available on sediment organisms. The chemical safety assessment according to Annex I of the REACH regulation indicates no need to investigate further the effects on sediment organisms.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The chemical safety assessment according to Annex I of the REACH regulation indicates NO need to investigate further the effects on sediment organisms. This is concluded based on the following key aspects as result of the chemical safety assessment: - the substance is regarded as biodegradable based on screening test result. - the substance is not classified as hazardous to aquatic organisms (the lowest EC10 = 145 mg/L (Algae)) - no Risk Characterisation is to be performed because the substance is not classified according to any of the Criteria of the CLP-regulation (EC) 1272/2008. Further, direct and indirect exposure of the sediment compartment to the substance is unlikely. Because the substance is considered biodegradable, it can be assumed that it will be biodegraded within the STP process and as a consequence a transfer to the sediment compartment is not expected. Furthermore, the physicochemical data indicate that the substance is not adsorptive or bioaccumulative (low logKow and due to ionisation in water at environmentally relevant pH values), a significant distribution into the sediment compartment and a significant exposure of sediment dwelling organisms is not expected. Therefore, no tests/test proposals on sediment dwelling organisms of annex X (9.5.1 long term toxicity to sediment organisms) are provided. Direct exposure to the substance is not known based on the identified uses. This adaptation from testing is in accordance with the specific rules for adaptation from testing in 9.5.1. of column 2 in annex X of the regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH).
