Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No data on terrestrial toxicity (soil macro-organisms, terrestrial arthropods, terrestrial plants and soil micro-organisms) are available.

No toxicity was observed in the available aquatic tests. In addition the chemical safety assessment according to Annex 1 REACH does not indicate the need of further ecotoxicological testing.

The substance is poorly water soluble, not volatile and poorly biodegradable. Its adsorption/desorption partition coefficient indicates immobility in soil and adsorption to sludge in the sewage treatment plant.

For industrial uses it can be assumed that the first receiving compartment of the substance is freshwater after passing wastewater treatment systems where adsorption to sludge and elimination is expected. Risk management measures are applied.

However, the substance is used as stabiliser for polymers for following applications: coatings, plastics, polyurethanes and adhesives. The concentrations in the corresponding end use applications are very low (< 5 %) and emissions to the different environmental compartments from these end uses are negligible as the substance is included in a matrix.

The Risk Characterisation Ratio of the risk assessment is below 1 for the terrestrial compartment.

However. as a direct or indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely no study is conducted. Thus, terrestrial toxicity is not expected for the test item.
