Additional information

Toxicity to aquatic algae Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata was assessed according to OECD Guideline 201 (Alga, Growth Inhibition Test), and EU Method C.3 (Algal Inhibition test) and in compliance with GLP. P. subcapitata were exposed under static conditions to the substance at nominal concentrations of 1.0, 3.2, 10, 32 and 100 mg/L in freshwater.

The test was performed with 3 vessels per concentration and 6 vessels per control. For each concentration, cell densities were recorded at 24-hours internals, and test concentrations were confirmed by HPLC analysis.

The EC50 for growth rate reduction (72h-ErC50) based on TWA concentrations was 31 mg/L with a 95% confidence interval ranging from 10 to 97 mg/L.

The EC50 for yield inhibition (72h-EyC50) based on TWA concentrations was 6.8 mg/L with a 95% confidence interval ranging from 3.8 to 12 mg/L.

The 72h-NOEC for growth rate reduction based on TWA concentrations was 1.1 mg/L. The 72h-NOEC for yield inhibition based on TWA concentrations was below 0.38 mg/L. The 72h-EC10 for growth rate reduction based on TWA concentrations was 4.8 mg/L. The 72h-EC10 for yield inhibition based on TWA concentrations was below 0.94 mg/L.
