- Justification:
Piperonal has been tested for biodegradability and bioaccumulation potential (Log Pow) and has been shown not to fulfil the screening criteria for P/vP, nor for B/vB. Although based on the acute environmental aquatic toxicity data the screening criterium for T (environmental) is not fulfilled, the T criterium based on Annex XIII of REACH is fulfilled as the substance meets the criteria for classification as toxic for reproduction (category 2) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, Annex I section 3.7.
In conclusion, the substance is considered neither PBT nor vPvB, as the screening criteria for P/vP and B/vB are not fulfilled.
