Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: particulate/powder
Reference substance:
Name:
N,Nā€™-dithio-o- phenylenedibenzamide
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: particulate/powder
Reference substance:
N,Nā€™-dithio-o- phenylenedibenzamide
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Although modelling suggests that the half life of the substance may introduce the possibility of it being considered P, we conclude that it is most likely not P based on the study in 5.2.2.

The estimated BCF results demonstrate that the substance is not B.

There is no evidence that the substance is T.

Assessments have also been made for the transformation products found in environmental fate testing and none of these metabolites are considered PBT or vPvB. However, some of these transformation products are potentially P with low rates of biodegradation.

Likely routes of exposure:

The best evidence we have on the use of the substance is that it is consumed in the process of manufacturing rubber articles and therefore no longer exists in its original form. This would lead to the conclusion that the substance cannot be dispersed in the water/sediment compartment of the environment as it is no longer present in the end use products. We also conclude that it is not necessary to conduct further studies.
