Description of key information

The hydrolysis of 2,4,6-tribromophenol was assessed in the key study Sávári (2010). The study was GLP compliant and performed in accordance with current accepted testing methods (OECD 111 and EU Method C.7). 2,4,6-tribromophenol was found to be hydrolytically stable during the course of the study.

Results: In the course of the preliminary test the observed hydrolysis was less than 10 per cent after 5 days at a temperature of 50 °C at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9. Therefore 2,4,6-tribromophenol is considered to be hydrolytically stable under these circumstances and normally no additional testing is required.
