Description of key information

The determination of the hydrolysis as a function of pH was based on EEC Directive C.10 "Abiotic degradation: Hydrolysis as a function of pH"(1984). At pH4, 7 and 9, a decrease in concentration > 50% was observed after 2.4 hours (half-life time < 2.4 hours). Hence it was concluded that the concerned substance is hydrolytically unstable at pH 4, 7 and 9,under the conditions of the test. The test was performed at 50.0 ± 0.5°C.The DT50 at 12°C was recalculated according the equation R16.9 of the guidance R16 version 2, resulting a DT50 of 2.09 d (50.2 hours).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The determination of the hydrolysis as a function of pH was based on EEC Directive C.10 "Abiotic degradation: Hydrolysis as a function of pH"(1984). At pH4, 7 and 9, a decrease in concentration > 50% was observed after 2.4 hours (half-life time < 2.4 hours, i.e < 0.1 days).

Hence it was concluded that the concerned substance is hydrolytically unstable at pH 4, 7 and 9, under the conditions of the test.

As the test was performed at 50.0 ± 0.5°C, the DT50 at 12°C was recalculated according the equation R16.9 of the guidance R16 version 2, resulting a DT50 of 2.09 d (50.2 hours) and a rate constant for hydrolysis of 0.33 d-1.
