Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A log Koc of 1.06 (11.4 L/kg) can be taken as representative for EEA-NH4.

Additional information

A GLP-compliant OECD guideline 121 study is available (TNO Quality of Life, 2008b). Two test were performed, in the first test methanol/water 55/45 v/v % was used and during the second test a methanol/water 55/45 v/v % mixture made up to pH 5.5 with formic acid and ammonium formiate was applied. Under both conditions the log Koc of the EEA ion of EEA-NH4 could not be determined, because the negatively charged EEA ion exhibited a peak in the chromatogram with retention time lower than t0. Therefore, the organic carbon-water partitioning coefficient (Koc) was calculated from the octanol-water partition coefficient (log Kow) using the equation from EUSES (predominantly hydrophobics). The calculated log Koc is 11.4 L/kg (log value = 1.06) from a log Kow of 1.18. This predicted value is used in the assessment.
