Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, fog or mist, dry powder or cabon dioxide may be

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and phosphorus together with hydrogen chloride.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective equipment and a self-contained breathing

apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1.

Construct temporary dikes with suitable inert material to

prevent product spreading. Absorb onto diatomaceous earth or

other inert material.

Shovel up and place spill in an UN-approved container and

dispose of at an approved waste disposal facility according

to current laws and regulations dependent upon the product

characteristics and the classification of the waste.

Do not allow substance to enter water courses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle in a manner consistent with good

industrial/manufacturing techniques and practices. Use

suitable personal protection equipment such as chemical

protective gloves, goggles and/or face shield, a facemask

with an acid gas filter or powdered respirator, a long

sleeved overall and a rubber apron. Handle in a well

ventilated area e.g. provide local exhaust ventilation.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg. sand, soil, or commercial absorbent) may

be disposed of by landfill at an authorised facility. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be disposed of by incineration above 1100

deg C at a licensed waste treatment facility in accordance

with national regulations. Stack gases should be scrubbed to

eliminate oxides of nitrogen and phosphorus and hydrogen

chloride which may be formed. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not permitted.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance will not enter the public domain as the

substance is polymerised during the textile treatment.

Textiles tretaed with the substance will be disposed of as

domestic waste.
