First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air.

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, fog, foam, dry chemical and carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Formation of phenol, phenolderivatives, carbon monoxide and
carbondioxide.

Protective equipment: During emergency conditions , overexposure to thermal
decomposition products may cause health hazard.


Self contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing
to prevent contact with skin and eyes should be worn.

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up, place in a bag and hold for waste disposal.


Avoid raising dust and eliminate all ignition sources.


Wear adequate protective clothing.

Handling: Avoid heat, light, ignition sources.


Avoid any unnecessary exposure by adequate protective
clothing, glasses, gloves and dust mask.

Storage: Store in a cool, dark and dry place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: No reaction can be expected based on the chemical structure
of the compound.

Dust explosion: Dust, like most organic materials in powder form, may form
explosive mixtures with air .

But the amount used in application is very low , nl. max 5
kg in one time.


This is the maximum quantity used in the formulation step;
this step is realised at JSR (Haasrode or Japan)

The customers receive alwways liquid formulations.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Product is not hazardous and does not need any
neutralisation of his effects.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Product is always present is small quantities in
photoresist. Those preparations are not widdely used due to
the special technological needs required for its
application.

The photoresist (and the products obtained after irradiation
and development) are all collected in adapted containers
for sending them to adequate disposal facilities.
