Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move the patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, for at least 10

minutes. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water. Obtain medical attention if irritation

occurs.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, carbon dioxide, foam or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus

should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (See 2.3.1). Isolate the

spillage area. Sweep up spilled material, and place in

correctly labelled containers. Dispose of by incineration or

at a landfill site in accordance with local regulations.

Minimise dust generation, ventilate and wash the spillage

area.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Dust-proof overalls, impervious

gloves and safety goggles (eg. BS2092, types C or D) should

be worn. Suitable respiratory protection should be worn

(eg. North twin cartridge respirator with RP12 cartridges

for dust protection or RP3D for solvent vapour protection).

Storage: Store in sealed containers in a cool, dry place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Batches of solid substance supplied as a melt will be

packaged in 205 litre L-ring high density polyethylene

open-topped drums fitted with a sealing ring, or in

polyethylene lined cardboard kegs (25 or 50 litre). Supplies

of the substance in powder form, or of the granulate

preparations, will be packaged in 25 kg paper valve sacks,

with polypropylene liners, or in cardboard kegs.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: Slow hydrolysis occurs. This is promoted by high or low pH.

The reaction is not vigorous.

Dust explosion: The substance is classified as St class 2.

A/B CLASSIFICATION: GROUP A (FLAMMABLE).

Dust explosion determined by test: Y

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Dust control measures when handling dry powders will

minimise risks of dust explosion. Chemical degradation can

be achieved by hydrolysis under acidic or alkaline

conditions. (A631, A632)

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a landfill site is possible in accordance with

local regulations. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration at a

suitable facility. Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of

nitrogen should be fitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Discharge to water systems is not expected to cause adverse

effects as liquid wastes will contain hydrolysis products

rather than parent material.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of preparations. Recovery from preparations is not feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable for preparations.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of preparations which can be disposed of as domestic waste.
