Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure. Obtain medical attention if
ill effects occur.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with eyewash solution or clean water,
holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes. Obtain
immediate medical attention. Continue irrigation until
medical attention can be obtained.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with water. Obtain
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Provided the patient is conscious, wash out the mouth with
water and give 200-300 ml (half a pint) of water to drink.
Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.
Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen together with some hydrogen chloride and soot.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective
clothing should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Ensure suitable personal protection during removal of
spillages (cf 2.3.1). Transfer to a container for disposal.
Wash the spillage area with water, do not allow the
substance to enter water-courses. Disposal should be at a
contolled landfill site or incineration facility in
accordance with local, state or national legislation.
For spillages or uncontrolled discharges into water-courses
the appropriate authorities must be informed (National
Rivers Authority in the UK).
Handling and storage
Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin and
eyes. Avoid inhalation of high concentrations of dusts.
Control dust formation. Wear suitable respiratory equipment
(compliant with EN 149 FFP3), gloves and safety goggles.
Storage: Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from moisture.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Transport Class 4.2. Fabricated intermediate bulk container
(FIBC) 200 kg max capacity.

decompose at room temperature with the evolution of large

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically feasible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Chemical treatment is not considered appropriate.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method, using temperatures above 950 deg C.
Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and

and low ready biodegradability.
