Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial

respiration, preferably mouth to mouth. If breathing is

difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least fifteen

minutes. Call a physician.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash thoroughly with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink large quantities of water. Do not induce vomiting. Get

immediate medical attention. Never give anything by mouth

to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use suitable extinguishing media for fighting surrounding

fire.

Product arising from burning: The substance will not burn. The substance will not

decompose at temperatures typical of fires.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the event of a spill, maintain appropriate dust control,

prevent contamination of soils, drains and surface water,

and transfer the pigment product into a closed container for

disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: Good housekeeping procedures should be followed to prevent

dust during processing. Do not eat, drink or smoke in work

areas. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.

Provide eye wash stations in handling areas. Use mechanical

ventilation to keep dust below regulatory standards.

Respirators approved for dusts should be used in

uncontrolled or dusty areas where the product is present.

Storage: Store material in a closed container using normal

warehousing procedures.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance should be packaged in fiber drums, cardboard

boxes with poly liner or bags meeting a 5/50 NK construction

.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: The mixed oxide substance is extremely inert. It will not

react with other chemicals under typical environmental

conditions. It is not unstable to heat, light, or shock. It

will not burn.

Chemical reaction with water: See above.

Dust explosion: The substance will not burn, a dust explosion is unlikely.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

The chemical is chemically inert and cannot be neutralized,

incinerated, or treated to change characteristics.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: 650 Removal by controlled dumping at a licensed landfill

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

The chemical is chemically inert and cannot be neutralized,

incinerated, or treated to change characteristics.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: It is conceivable that the product could be destroyed by

mixing with other materials and calcining at very high

temperature. Since the pigment product is inert, there would

appear to be no benefit  to such a process. To our

knowledge, the product can be disposed of in a landfill,

code 650.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable since the substance will not be available for

the public at large.
