Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
25 March 2021 to 26 March 2021
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

No changes of the sample were observed on the temperature vs. time curve in the range of 0 - 400ºC. See image attached.

Conclusions:
The test item does not have a relative self-ignition temperature according to test A.16 criteria.
Executive summary:

The determination of the self-ignition temperature of the test item was performed according to EU Method A.16 (GLP study). A cube of stainless steel wire mesh was filled with the test item, suspended in the centre of the laboratory oven and heated at a constant rate of 0.5ºC/min until reaching 400ºC. One thermocouple was placed at the centre of the cube and the other between the cube and the oven wall to record the oven temperature. Based on the test results, the test item does not have a relative self-ignition temperature according to test A.16 criteria

Description of key information
