Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The substance is expected to hydrolyse rapidly based on the results of hydrolysis to produce triisopropyl silanol and acrylic acid. Acrylic acid is not stable in the test conditions of aquatic toxcicity stuides therefore the test concentrations and endpoints are based on the stable hydrolytic product, triisopropyl silanol. Acute fish, Daphnia and the key algae and cyanobacteria studies were conducted according to OECD test guidelines at the-GLP facility (reliability of the studies 1, according to the scoring system of Klimisch et al., 1997)

The 96 hour in fish was LC50 4 mg/L, 48 -hour EC50 in Daphnia was 3.5 mg/l and 72-hour EC50 in growth rate from the key algae study was 0.070 mg/l. On the basis of short-term toxicity to fish, invertebrates and toxicity to algae, the lowest EC50 for triisopropylsilyl acrylate is from the toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria test (0.07 mg/l) and therefore this value was used for the calculations of PNECs in aquatic environment.
